Employment Relations and Wellness:
Assist in drafting HR policies and procedures in line with legislation and organisational business needs.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with all employees.
Handle daily enquiries from employees promptly.
Deliver first-line advice to employees on respective HR matters by policies, procedures, and appropriate legislation.
Assist with the investigation, disciplinary and grievance matters, and specific IR matters related to BCEA, LRA, EEA and SDA.
Initiate wellness activities for the companys annual employee wellness programme.
Conduct check-in/coaching session with employees to assess their morale and wellbeing.
Assist with the completion of all statutory reporting.
Assist with the BBBEE scorecard process in collaboration with the HR Manager.

Recruitment, Selection & Onboarding:
Provide HR support to line managers throughout the recruitment process following BerryWorlds policies and procedures and relevant legislation:
Place advertisements internally and externally
Liaise with Recruitment agencies on selected vacancies
Shortlist candidates and prepare for interviews
Coordinate and participate in the interview process, chairing selected interviews as appropriate.
Ensure all necessary paperwork is recorded and filed.
Ensure criminal checks and reference checks is conducted.
Obtain all relevant documentation from the identified candidate
Compile offer letter to identified candidates.
Compile employment contract on receipt of signed off offer letter and process the hire on the internal systems.
Assists with the coordination of the new joiner process:
Compiles new hire packs and onboarding documentation
Assists with HR onboarding sessions for new joiners.
Update the induction programme for new joiners on an ad hoc basis.
Tracks 3-month and 6-month probation review dates of new joiners and send reminders to supervisors.
Assist with the documentation of the leaver process:
Ensure all relevant leavers documentation is received by the leaver and the respective line manager
Conduct exit interviews with leavers
Provide feedback obtained from exit interview to HR Manager and line manager.
Collect leavers documentation on the last day of leavers employment.

Learning and Development:
Contribute to the development of training and development plans in conjunction with the HR Manager.
Assist with the consolidation of departmental training needs.
Identify and select external training providers in conjunction with the HR Manager.
Obtain feedback on training delivered and report on training providers and training programmes.

Performance Management and Career development:
Assist in revising and updating job descriptions as and when needed.
Update performance appraisal templates before annual performance reviews as agreed with the HR Manager.
Accumulate performance development needs as identified by the department heads through the performance management process.
Provide support and assistance with the uniform and effective implementation of the performance management system across all departments.
Assist with consolidating information obtained from performance development plans and career development plans for HR planning purposes.
Assist with career path discussions with BW employees.

Remuneration and Benefits:
Manage the payroll process for weekly wages and assist with the payroll process for monthly salaries.
Ensure payroll reports are processed accurately on a timely basis.
Assist with the investigation of medical and pension fund benefit options.
Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of all Human Resources Management transactions including leave and salaries.

Communication and Engagement:
Maintain confidentiality of employee records and individual conversations, sharing information with the HR Manager.
Relay all new information gained to the HR Manager so that suitable strategies can be developed and implemented.
Regular meetings with the HR Manager to discuss relevant issues.
Draft HR update emails to keep the organisation informed on HR-related activities.
Assist with the compilation and design of the annual HR newsletter, events calendar, and company surveys.
Assist with communication of any company-wide event ¬or survey.

HR Administration:
Ensure electronic and paper-based employee files are maintained and filing is completed promptly.
Record absence and monthly leave balance reporting to department heads.
Prepare reports on employee-related data on an ad hoc basis.
Assists HR Manager with various HR-related projects, (i.e.: Wellness initiatives, engagement surveys etc.)
Recommends new ideas, approaches, and procedures to enhance the efficiency and value of the HR department.

Minimum Requirements…

Bachelors degree in Human Resources/Industrial Psychology (desirable)
Diploma in Human Resources or equivalent
Drivers license
